We seek a highly motivated and creative Immunologist, preferably with experience in the Pharmaceutical Industry, to join our discovery team. You will work within a highly dynamic and creative group and be responsible for the development of single-cell platform for large-scale interrogation of adaptive immunity in antibody discovery. The candidate will collaborate with scientists within the antibody division to develop new technologies for isolating antibodies against challenging targets.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead development of high throughput single cell isolation methodologies for antibody discovery.
• Characterization of subsets of cell types relating to antibody responses.
• Design cellular biology workflows of various cell populations involved in an immune response, including cell culture of differentiated and undifferentiated cells.
• Interrogation of the biology of plasma cells and its relation to high-affinity antibodies.
• Immunoassay-based screening of B and plasma cells.
• Collaborate with scientists on establishing robust single B-l and plasma cell sequencing protocols.
• Use molecular biology techniques for cloning IgG.
• Responsible for experimental design, data collection and interpretation.
• Project and partner management with internal and external organizations
• Strong presentation and analytical skills are a necessary part of this high visibility role.
• Written and electronic record-keeping of experimentation
• Follows company policies and practices as outlined in the Handbook and follows guidelines regarding safety as outlined in the AWAIR, Chemical Hygiene and Exposure Control manuals in accordance with the job.
• Performs additional duties as assigned.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

Education and Experience:

• This position requires a Ph.D. with experience in Immunology, Cell Biology, or a related field. Must possess a working knowledge of scientific principles. Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel are required. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment, multitask, and have good communication skills, both verbally and in writing.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Broad expertise in immunology.
• Extensive hands-on experience in single cell isolation, printing and characterization.
• Hands-on experience with multicolor flow cytometry of primary cells.
• Well versed in cellular and molecular immunology techniques.
• Experience in molecular biology techniques, cell culture, real-time PCR, basic bioinformatics, etc.
• Experience in immunoassay and related methods.
• Demonstrated ability to manage complex projects to completion, working across multiple teams and partners to ensure success.
• Proven skills in experimental design and data analysis as well as critical review of primary literature
• Strong team player and self-starter as well as ability to work independently
• Strong organization skills and attention to details
• Good verbal and written communication skills
